Walkers Chocolate Misshapes

Walkers Chocolate Misshapes

I love chocolate misshapes and I thought I’d treat myself to my usual brand, which is Turners Chocolates.  Instead, I spotted Walkers Chocolate Misshapes – a bag of 250 grams in weight I thought they were worth trying for a change. I picked these up in Home Bargains when I was loitering to kill time before I was due at the dentist….

The trouble with buying chocolate treats is they rarely get saved for the day and as soon as I got home I had to try them, to see what was inside the bag and to taste them.

Weight: 250 grams

The first thing I did was weigh the pack – I’m quite distrusting at times 🙂  The pack did weigh 250 grams, including the packaging it weighed 266 grams.  All’s good there then!

What Sort of Misshapes Were in the Bag?

When you buy misshapes you’ve no idea of the contents – each bag is different as they’re just a random gathering of the misshapen chocolates from the production line.  So I took them out and lined them up.  These are Walkers chocolates, but which ones?

There were 25 chocolates inside the bag, some white chocolate, some dark chocolate and some milk:

I then managed to scoff the lot over a few hours…. oops.  There are no photos of the insides as I was too eager to just nibble on them and had no thought for photos!

All these chocolates were soft centres, either very runny/liquid or a soft truffle type of texture.  There were certainly no toffees or caramels.  Overall I think they were all mint chocolates, or mostly mint – it was a bit hard to tell with some of them and you don’t get a list of flavours when you buy misshapes.  So these were Walkers Mint Selection misshapes by the looks of it!

Overall – they were nice enough, I’d buy them again – I think I still prefer the Turners chocolates, but would be happy to try these again and see what the next bag contains.

Nutrition and Calories:

The nutrition information panel on the Walkers bag says that a portion is 40 grams, that’s about four chocolates! Calories per portion are 194 calories. Calories per 100 grams are 485 calories. The whole bag, weighing 250 grams, holds about 1200 calories.  I counted 25 chocolates in this particular bag, so another way to look at it is that each chocolate will have 48 calories. 🙁

Sugar is 28 grams in every 40 grams, which gives a sugar %age of 70%.

Oh well …..
