Naan Bread Pizza: Cheese & Jalapeno Peppers

Naan Bread Pizza Toppings

Naan bread pizza is a simple snack, or main meal, you can put together using any naan bread and all your favourite toppings.

I like to buy vacuum packed naan breads to keep in the house to be able to quickly cook something hot, tasty and edible. I’ll use my toaster oven to quickly toast the toppings and warm the naan bread, but I’ve also been known to simply top the naan bread and then microwave it until the cheese has melted! It’s all about time and convenience…. how hungry I am!

Naan Bread Pizza Toppings

These can be as simple, or complex as you like.

Today I just had grated cheddar cheese and sliced a selection of fresh chillies on top.

But it’s up to you to choose!

Cheese is a good start, then whatever toppings you’ve got and like/want…. but adding a dash of sauce or chutney to the top can give you those little pockets of joy when you bite into them!

If you want a pizza base sauce, then you can either use a jar/sachet, or make your own, I sometimes make up a 4 Ingredient Chilli Pizza Base Sauce from what I’ve always got in the cupboards. Else, there are lots of chilli ketchups available, Heinz Jalapeno Ketchup is another favourite!

£1 Meals

These naan bread pizzas go in my “£1 meals” list of cheap/quick, but tasty, meals.

How to Make a Naan Bread Pizza

Simply spread your toppings onto the naan bread and place under a medium/hot grill for about 10 minutes. If you put it too close/too hot the pizza will burn at the edges.

In my mini oven the shelf would be about half way up and I’d set the temperature gauge to about 160-170C.

Just stand and watch it while it cooks. Remove it when you like the look of how much the cheese has melted and how brown its turned (we’re all different!) and serve!

Freezing Chillies & Peppers

When I buy fresh chillies and peppers, I’ll freeze them. I made this naan bread pizza using fresh chillies, but I sometimes just slice off a few rounds from frozen peppers: Can I Freeze Peppers? Do Peppers Need Blanching?
